Pinterest - Get pinning!

English: Red Pinterest logo
Image via Wikipedia
A pinterest button recently showed up on my squidoo lenses. What is this pinterest I asked, and why am I only just now learning about it?

Pinterest is kind of like an online scrap book. You can pin content from any website and include a comment and a picture. You can create multiple boards for pinning content and people can repin your content.

I find it to be neat way to discover new things that I otherwise didn't know existed. Every topic imaginable is covered and it's a great place to find new resources and even promote your own creations.

Ability to Sort by Character

SpongeBob SquarePants (character)
Image via Wikipedia
I've added the ability to sort by character for the Streetfighter and SpongeBob Squarepants category. This  should make it easier for people to find exactly what they want.

I am looking into implementing a more robust navigation menu on the left hand side to allow more sorting options.

I also am continuing to evaluate the viability of a search capability, but so far there are some technical details that bar it from being an effective tool.

Is there any way to see who has +1 a link?

My guess is no, based on:

http://analytics.blogspot.com/2011/06/1-reporting-in-google-webmaster-tools.html

"Finally, the Audience report shows you aggregate geographic and demographic information about the Google users who’ve +1’d your pages. To protect privacy, we’ll only show audience information when a significant number of users have +1’d pages from your site."

So it seems +1'ing is more of a pseudo public action.

ZSB - Where did the Zoom go?

I'm back!

After a short hiatus I am back and ready to continue this journey down the zazzle brick road. If you've used the zazzle store builder (also known as zstore, zsb) then you've probably noticed that unlike the zazzle marketplace, your store is left without the zoom ability.

Wouldn't if be nice if you could use the zoom feature in your own store? Well you can, thanks to Sam Henry. It just takes a few small changes to your zstore.php, zstore.css, and your site pages. Visit Sam Henry's page for instructions on how to implement the zoom feature.

Free SEO Toolkit from Microsoft

Microsoft has released a free SEO (search engine optimization) toolkit. My guess is this is their way of  competing with google webmaster tools and to get people to start optimizing their pages for bing. I've been using it for a couple days now and I must say it is extremely handy and simple to use. There are several things that I would have overlooked otherwise that it pointed out to me in a clear concise fashion. It even highlights the offending code if you have any. Great stuff, I highly recommend you check it out.
